Darren Sardelli’s Tips for Writing Poetry

First of all, write down all of your ideas! How many times have you thought of a great idea and then forget about it? It happens to people all of the time!

Second of all, learn how to write the right way. Study the works of poets who know how to write. You will find that each poem has a certain meter and rhythm to it. Try to identify it (hear the beat in your head).

Third of all, Have Fun When You Write!!! Pick topics that you will enjoy writing about.

And last but not least, think of titles for your poems after your poems are written. Most people think they need to pick a title before they start writing a poem. Don’t worry about it! After you read your finished poem, the title will come to you (Trust me! I speak from experience!).
